Welcome to the Victoria State Rose Garden website. With over 5000 roses (covering about 5 hectares), the Victoria State Rose Garden is one of the tourist gems of Victoria.
Awarded the International Garden of Excellence by the World Federation Of Rose Societies in 2003, it was the first rose garden outside of Europe to receive this Award and the only one (at that time) cared for entirely by volunteers.
The Victoria State Rose Garden is still open every day to visit for exercise.
Follow all Government restrictions. At present those living within 10 km of the garden can visit for exercise. Follow Social Distancing rules. Check all Covid-19 restrictions before visiting.

These pictures are of Superb Fairy Wrens skittering around the base of the rose bushes foraging for insects when volunteers last pruned on 14th July this year, pre Covid lockdown 6.
Photos taken 7th July. Volunteers worked from early morning till 1.00 pm in 2 hour blocks. We only worked for a few weeks so our pruning plan was sadly unable to be completed.
WE ARE SO looking forward to returning (added 20th September)
